Rest in Peace, Sweet Friend, Singleton Hippie Art

Rest in Peace,
Sweet Friend
.
(c)Singleton 2008
.
I see you in
accidental
places at
accidental times,
a face in the rearview
mirror,
laughing
in five o'clock traffic...
a shadow on the midnight
walls,
watching...
a reflection in the wishing pond,
fleeting, but
there, I swear....
.
I hear you in
the sudden orchestra
of unexpected windchimes,
the laughter of strangers,
the
"I know this means something"
words to a song I've never heard
before...
.
I feel you...
The giant quiet so loud
it rocks my world...
.
And I'm listening...
.
Rest in peace,
sweet friend....
.
and in love...
.
It grows....
Singleton hippie art, this one and only night a tribute to the gazillion moments you still touch my life...
Colored markers, pens, pencils on hand~me~down paper. Drawn in the rain on a Monday night porch. And yes, It's the Day of the Dead, but in my world, it's just another day when Nadine and Joe come to visit and no~one can see them, but me.....
Much love, sweet friends....

"the giant so quiet it rocks my world",,,,
I know that quiet; It's love.

Whoever they were, I know they were very important in your life, and I'm sure were blessed to have known you also.
We all are.
To a peace-filled heart,,,,,

Babs....
They were the gift.
And I remember, standing there,
The Chosen One,
reciting Nadine's Eulogy,
praying to God and her to give me the strength to spew the words. and being hugged afterwards....
strangers...
embracing me with the words " I know you miss her so"....
And being baffled....
I couldn't, didn't miss her yet...
because she was still with me...
And two months later, Joe....
And two years later...
they still are...
I can't stand outside and smoke cigarettes in the rain with them,
eat black eyed peas on New Years with them,
Laugh out loud with them,
but they're here...
still...
whispering in the background,
tripping me with Aesops fables,
passing me hand~me~down crayons...

I see them, hear them, feel them....

Love grows....
I know you know....

Todd...
I almost didn't do this...
didn't expose this to the world,
and then
when the colors came spilling out,
the words tumbling,
I remembered the lyrics to
an old Loggins and Messina song...
"Please, celebrate me home...."
and then I decided it should be Mardi Gras...
a billboard plastered everywhere...
God, how very, very lucky I was to have known
friendship,
soul mated...
soul fated...

Maithri...The Wild has touched me...And I pray the blessings are counted and
remembered
and
celebrated
one
feather
at a time...

I've thought about you dozens of times since Sunday...
Tinked you actually...
wondering about The Wonder and the very magic of being there live and for real....
once in a lifetime....

Peace~love, my friends...

This post really hit home for me! I've spent the day thinking about my dad, he left this world just over 7 months ago, and I miss him so! Thanks for sharing, it helps to know I'm not alone!

your friend in peace,

Paula M :)

kk...Ty, This one was born of love, of the sudden wind that reminded me...
to believe...
to not forget...
to listen to the secret
language of
an accidental breeze,
of unexpected shadows,
of things that go bump in the night...
Love grows....
Of this I'm sure....

Peace to you, new friend
