Mother Earth Unplugged, Singleton Hippie Art Original

Mother Earth Unplugged
(c) Singleton 2011
Hippie Art

"Stranded on the muddy river,
I played in the tar riddled sand...
scratching Peace Signs and writing LOVE
in giant cursive letters on the bank...

And there,
with the brown water slopping up my shins,
with the greatest sunrise ever smiling on my shoulders,
I met a Man with no voice...
a teensy weensy fish with no tail...
an Alligator older than Earth herself...

And
I met...
Myself
basking in the blessings
of Ma Earth,
unplugged."

(C) Singleton 2011 Born on a blazing hot Sunday, in my own World....where sometimes engines are meant to take you nowhere...and sometimes they're meant to stop running...And sometimes you're meant to embrace each and every moment, every miracle, every meant~to~be.

Moon over my Hippie, Singleton Hippie Art

Moon Over My Hippie (c) Singleton 2010 "He laughed and slid one more beer across the bartop, Clink! It was late and we were the only ones left, teetering on the rickety bar stools, falling into each other's arms on the dusty dancefloor... whispering under the Disco lights of another Hippie Moon...." Because sometimes I do carry my paints to the bar...And sometimes it's just Magic...

One Love, Singleton Hippie Art

One Love (C) Singleton 2010 "We were wreckless... fatefully falling into each other's accidental arms and holding on tight. We were in Love... once...... for a very, very short time... and forever... Love is Wild like that" Words and Artwork (c) Singleton 2011 Painted at the edge of the waves, in the trickle tide, in the memory pool....Hippies are like that....

Catch and Release, Singleton Hippie Art

Catch and Release
The Peace
(c) Singleton 2008

"There at the bottom of it all,
I scrunched my toes
deep into the sand
and held on for
a never~ever again
forever...

waiting to breathe....

To be lifted up again...

To see the sun....

And then....

I felt the tiniest thread
of change...
black waters turning tepid blue,
champagne chilled
and full of
life...

And I remembered...
what I needed to share....

Peace...."

Watercolors, food coloring, shaving cream, ink, colored markers and pencils on 11 by 11 recycled cardstock.

Fortune Teller, Singleton 2007, Outsider Art

FORTUNE TELLER
(c) Singleton 2007

A carnival at the sea
alive
and
spinning
neon noise
and
all for free
fortunes and
cheap plush toys.....

But you don't see it,
standing there.
Dressed in your success
with life lines
parenthesis
on what once was your smile
and laugh lines
hidden in
your palm,
a souvenier token....
From the fortune teller...

Cheap little thrill rider.....

The Ring, Singleton 2007, Outsider Art

THE RING
Outsider Woman Hippie Art
(c) Singleton 2007
SOLD

Imposssible...
This trinket...
accidently lost...
It's owner paying no mind...
When the salty fingers of fate
spider-danced up into the sand
and stole, quickly,
the glittered past...

Impossible...
This trinket...
tumbling slowly...
lazily...
in an oceanic womb
of safeness,
and then
Clink.....
Landing at my toes....

Pencils, ink, markers, my life and all that other hoo-hah on 8 1/2 by 11 cardstock...

Other Fish in the Sea, Singleton 2007, Outsider Art

Other Fish In The Sea
(c) Singleton 2007
Outsider Woman Hippie Artist
SOLD

I see you.
Barely there..
A shadow
on the other side of
The filthy glass wall...

The water is so murky,
smokey,
polluted...
And my fingers
trace your face
And
touch you...

Your hand on mine...
In the deep deep water...

Break the glass

Outsider Art

DON'T LOOK DOWN
Rock bottom is much further than you think

I'll masquerade around, arms tied, pretending to float.
Sinking
Kicking
grappling at the rusty little treasures...
waterlogged moths, barely breathing....

All dressed up and no place to go
Except tomorrow.
Or down.

Peek-a-Boo
Outsider Hippie Art
(c) Singleton 2006

Oh, he's there.
Peeking through borrowed eyes,
listening to second hand stories,
Parading around in a paper bag mask
living the perfect life

Watching
And waiting

Last One Standing, Singleton Outsider Art, 2006

Last One Standing
Outsider Hippie Art
(C) Singleton 2006

SOLD PRIVATE COLLECTION

Sometimes the only safe place left is amongst the ever shifting sands...where drip castles change with the tides and time is just a drift....where good stuff washes ashore and the dark and lurking sea can stretch her foamy green fingers into our world and gobble back the bad....swallowing it forever....
Standing here, toes touching the very edge of the world....
I see the face of forever...

Sisters, Singleton, Outsider Art

SISTERS, of course
Outsider Hippie Art
(c) Singleton 2006

SOLD to a beautiful stranger

Here we are. Lunar opposites. Yet, inately, alike; swimming in a sea of familiar fairytales, Saturday night stories, and our own, sometimes wobbly balance, our yen and our yang. Together, we are one. May the circle be , always, unbroken.

Colored pencils, pen, and markers, of course.
8 1/2 by 11 cardstock.

The Blessing of The Tides, Singleton

The Blessing of The Tides
(c) Singleton 2006
Outsider Artist
Sold, to a kindred spirit

"Did I tell you about the dolphins?"
"There were three"
"There were five"
"Joe's treasure boxes"
"Look, I brought you gifts from the ocean! "
"Shells, you brought me beautiful shells?"
"No,
Memories from the San Marino"

We've been through high tides, and low tides, and spent countless hours playing driftwood, floating aimlessly in the sandy currents. God bless the tides.
