accidently lost...
It's owner paying no mind...
When the salty fingers of fate
spider-danced up into the sand
and stole, quickly,
the glittered past...
Impossible...
This trinket...
tumbling slowly...
lazily...
in an oceanic womb
of safeness,
and then
Clink.....
Landing at my toes....
Pencils, ink, markers, my life and all that other hoo-hah on 8 1/2 by 11 cardstock...

I can remember sitting on Cape San Blas at sunset with the waves lapping at my feet. One wave came...boom,snatch,grab & gone. The wave and my gold band.
I said 'Ups! That wave took my gold ring away!' but I din't budge.
My partner jumped on all fours into the wet sand. i laughed & told him to get up...that the ocean would bring it back at the right time, to the right person.
I really beleive that to be true.
And so it is......

I love that idea; something that we think is lost that is so precious in its symobolism, and yet we need only keep our eyes on the falling glint of light, and perhaps feel with our toes.
The drawing is so vibrant and busy. They all jump out at me. The eyes, that's where so much detail lies.
eric....how can we ever find, what we didn't even know we were looking for, if we have never felt loss?
And isn't it always, there, in the subtle shadows, where we least expected it?
