Peace Love Forever, Singleton and Son Original , Hippie and Flash Art United

Peace Love Forever
Singleton and Son
Hippie Flash Art Original

"Draped lazily over the bed in the Sunday Sun,
I painted him a thousand colors,
idled away the Sermon Times,
inking endless lines
up and down his arms,
powerful wings across his back,
spidering up his neck...
until

I could read him like the Sunday Comics....

My Tattooed Lover.."

Peace, Love, Eternity...Singleton Hippie Art

Peace, Love, Eternity is Now...
(c) Singleton

"The sky above me
was tangled with
twisted little twigs,
their boney fingers laced together
against the wind....
strumming sweet violin music
just before
the storm...

a hundred thousand
dragonflies paraded by,
swirling,
tumbling,
dancing,
laughing....

And then, I knew....

This was Peace."

Words and artwork (c) Singleton

Painted on a haunted hippie camp~out, watching eternity through the Tree tops....
the face of yesterday's Love, painted on the Ghost moon.... the wings of freedom, telling their story in the sky:)

Wanna Wanee?, Singleton Hippie Art

Wanna Wanee?
Singleton Hippie Art

" Two margaritas on the table,
salted and green,
and we clinked!
Raised our glasses high,
swirling
the cool Suwanee River
in our hands,
and imaginations,
and
sipped to our promise...

Take Me to the Wanee...
I whispered...

Barefooted and free,
to laugh
and dance
and drink
the music,
To camp in painted tents,
clockless,
under a spirited sky.

And he whispered back...
"I've got the tickets".....
"You bring the peace...."

Watercolors, markers, and complete obsession on coldpress paper. This little hippie is celebrating a runaway week, a reunion with my sisterlove, and the magical energy of the promise of music..... Psychedelic Dreams, Singleton Hippie Art

Psychedelic Dreams
(c) Singleton 2010
"I tossed and turned
and flung my arms....
tumbling through the dark caverns of everyday chaos...
falling
deeper and deeper
into the cool waters
of Saturday night
Peace....,
a make~believe~for~the~moment place...
And in my middle of the night sleep,
skinny arms tangled in sun dried sheets,
I painted smiles
on the wayward faces
of every haunting that's ever crossed my highway...."
Words and Artwork, Singleton, on a crooked Saturday, painted Left handed, because that's what happens when you tumble unexpectedly and try to save your teeth...and inked, very, very slowly with the help of a friend and a beer or a two:) Watercolors, acrylics, and all that hippie hoo~hah....

Peace Creek, Singleton Hippie Art

Peace Creek
(c) Singleton 2010
SOLD

"We tailgated there,
bumper to Chevy bumper,
clinking down the skinny dirt road,
Just a bunch ofHippies on Parade...
on our way to bonfires
and the muddy waters of Naked Freedom
on a Friday night.

I wandered there today,
rolled up my jeans,
a lifetime later,
and slid down the dusty hill,
littered with forget~me~nots,
crumpled beer bottles and bent grass,
until my toes touched the cold water of Peace Creek again..."

Words and Artwork (c) Singleton 2010

Orignal Watercolors, markers, and a trip down Hippie lane on a peaceful Saturday.

Love Hard, Singleton Hippie Art

LOVE HARD
Words and Hippie Artwork
(c) Singleton 2010

"We float...
do the Tango under the rush of high tide,
laugh,
crash,
and swallow Margarita~green waves
in giant gulps,
almost drowning

and then dig our toes in deeper,
Push off from the ocean floor....
And do it again...

Your face is a thousand colors
changing...
sun swept,
and flush
from the high of noon
and the high of now.

Love now...
And Love hard..."

Original watercolors, sharpies, and hippie hoo~hah on Coldpress paper. The sun's shining, the beer is cold, and there's no time like now.....

Singleton Hippie Art, The Story Teller

The Storyteller
(c) Singleton 2009

I lifted the tattered
paper,
folded, unfolded,
a thousand times
in this life,
and touched the faded
sunshine....
ran my fingers over
the colors
as soft
as
hand~me~down
jeans....

Three tables away
I saw the blue, blue eyes
come to life...
a firefly flickering...
dancing...

And then when
he ambled over,
barefooted,
and
leaned over me,
making sun shadows
with skinny arms and legs...

I started the game...

"Tell Me a story"....

Tiny little fortune teller...A tribute to all the stories we've told, the laughter we've shared, the choices we've made....Mine is over 20 years old...sea swept and faded. This one is bright and shiney and new...Just waiting for the stories to bring it to life. Here's to the summer of Love....and Hippie Beach...I can't wait!

Singleton Hippie Art, The Whisper

(c) Singleton 2009

The Whisper

He whispered to me
from a ghost town,
pale blue voice
in the wind...
"Look...
Listen...
Believe..."

And on the wings
of every butterflythat passes,
every breeze that
plays woodland music outside my kitchen window,
I hear him still...."

Vinyl LP reincarnated to send the message round and round and round....Altered archival print of The Eternity Angel embellished with the psychedelic colors of Peace...

Singleton Hippie Art, The Psychedelic Sea, The Original

Psychedelic Sea

(C) Singleton 2009
SOLD

He followed the sound,
guitar strings and tambourines,
southern voices in the wind...
knowing that
there in the nightcrowd
he would find me,
barefooted and gypsy dressed,
dancing in the ocean spray...

Full moons,
martini moons,
and a gazillion empty moons
have passed...

And I go
there still...
a mermaid ghost...
dancing on the dunes,
at the edge
of
a
psychedelic sea....

And in the wind,
I hear him laughing...

Knowing...

Remembering what it was like
to be
Free....

11 by 15 original on heavyweight Strathmore watercolor cold press. Watercolors, Acrylics, colored pencils and Ink...The tattered peace sign was drawn, crumpled, and abandoned on the porch for months before being rescued to rest like a hurricane in the center of this picture. The mermaid was born of another thought, another memory, a dream...that was never finished, and probably never will be, so she's come back to visit the sea. Letters were lifted from an old magazine. Together, they make the Psychedelic Sea...A collage, of sorts.

Hippie Singleton Art, Peace~Let it Shine

Peace, Let it Shine
(C) Singleton 2009

Sunrain....
the light early morning
glitter of a lazy
sun
stretching...
her wispy golden arms
reaching,
blonde locks cascading upward,
caught in the sudden
static electricity of a new day...

Peace rises...
And while the night
rolls over,
covers his head
with the thick
warm blanket of yesterday,
I salute the sun

and embrace the second chance
today brings...

Original hippie mandala, a tribute to the Sun and the power of hope....Colored markers, pencils, sharpie on archival heavy weight paper. Drawn, colored and collaged onto a vintage vinyl LP...The Doors~Waiting for the Sun. 12 inches across, 12 inches high

Little White Lies, Singleton Hippie Art

Little White Lies
(c) Singleton 2009
SOLD

Standing over me
like an aging rock star,
wearing his crystal blue eyes like
bling...
he muttered
"Silly little girl
with all your peace~love hoo~hah,
who do you think believes you?"

And I never lifted my head,
never let go of the colors,
the lines,
the flow...
Never let go of the spirit...

"I do"....

Drawn on reclaimed cardstock....colored markers, pencils, ink, peace, love, and yesterday.

in the wrong place ,
in her arms

Accidently in peace...

Rest in Peace, Sweet Friend, Singleton Hippie Art

Rest in Peace,
Sweet Friend
.
(c)Singleton 2008
.
I see you in
accidental
places at
accidental times,
a face in the rearview
mirror,
laughing
in five o'clock traffic...
a shadow on the midnight
walls,
watching...
a reflection in the wishing pond,
fleeting, but
there, I swear....
.
I hear you in
the sudden orchestra
of unexpected windchimes,
the laughter of strangers,
the
"I know this means something"
words to a song I've never heard
before...
.
I feel you...
The giant quiet so loud
it rocks my world...
.
And I'm listening...
.
Rest in peace,
sweet friend....
.
and in love...
.
It grows....
Singleton hippie art, this one and only night a tribute to the gazillion moments you still touch my life...
Colored markers, pens, pencils on hand~me~down paper. Drawn in the rain on a Monday night porch. And yes, It's the Day of the Dead, but in my world, it's just another day when Nadine and Joe come to visit and no~one can see them, but me.....
Much love, sweet friends....

Peace, Love, The Dream...Singleton 2008 Hippie Art

Peace, Love, The Dream
(c) Singleton 2008
SOLD
.
Tangled in Sunday sheets,
I stretched,
tossed,
let the Sun sprinkle pixie dust in my eyes
and woo
me back to sleep....
.
Cold, summer sleep...
And we we're dancing...
heads thrown back in laughter,
everyone else wrapped around their partners,
swooning,
but we were laughing...
.
And it was the Peace,
tattered little sticks and strings,
woven,
matted,
braided together
that
made them stare at us....
.
Love is like that....
.
Even in my dreams....
.

Peace Rising, Singleton 2008 Hippie Art

PEACE RISING
(c) Singleton 2008

SOLD

Worn out markers on
8 1/2 x 11 spiral bound card stock

Closer to the edge,
and then down,

down,

down,

into the rheumy river,
rolling,
tumbling,
moving with the current,
darker,
further,
faster
until there was deep silence and
the coffee colored sea became a velvet blanket,
and we hid,
there in the underworld,
in buried peace....

floating,
dreaming...

Her laquered fingernails,
slithers of morning,
raked across the river bed,
disco lights at dawn,
and I knew then,
what I know now...

Follow the light....

the endlessness rises....

Radio Love, Singleton Hippie Art

RADIO LOVE
(c) Singleton 2008

Ten thousand songs
streets
stories
and
I'm high...

Bare toes
balanced
on the very edge
of yesterday,
A rock and roll
ballet of
Butterflies and Bowie...
Incense and drums
rolling,
snapping,
Jiffy Pop on an open fire....
Tin can percussion
pulling you in...
And we're high...

Ten thousand lyrics
penciled
in the wind....
