Pixies for Peace, Singleton Hippie Art

Pixies for Peace
(c) Singleton 2008
Featured here now

I twirl my hair...
fingertips twyning,
macrame'ing
braiding
twisting
a cobweb of
yellow,
golden,
peace ~love for free,
casting
shadows on your dashboard...
christmas tinsel
scattered everywhere...
the tell-tale signs I've been here....

I fold tin foil,
roll it,
coil it
into sudden snakes,
1000 peace signs,
and suspend them
in
mid~air flight,
on broken branches,
graffitied stop signs,
broken bottle necks....

And in the glimmer,
the simmer,
the aftermath,
I watch you,
in make~believe...

smiling.....

  1. You have amazing drawing skills.
Love the garland in her hair,,and her finger dangling the string.

Also love watching you coil the foil,, sunburts dancing in the mirror, reflecting golden yellow.

  2. You take me back
    my friend

    to a day when liann
    from liverpool
    took her 10 year old
    cousins clothes
    to share with the kids
    in the paediatric ward
    at the Good Shepherd...

She had stuffed them in Lianns
    suitcase before she came
    a secret gift

    I remember
    taking that little box
    of treasures,
    woolen and denim
    floral and so pink...

    And giving them to kids
    to moms...

    And seeing the naked
    face of joy

    loosed streams
    of
    tears

    weary eyes
    softly burning
    with hope

    and seein little girls,
    and even
    little boys
    running round in
    jeans with pink flowers

    They didnt care.

    They were clothes.

    And in the midst
    of that open hearted
    moment
    when the world
    was love...

    I remember
    watching

    10 year old
    Caitlyn's face

    in make-believe

    smiling...

    My deepest love to you,
and the peace that comes full circle,

    M

  3. Babs....
a thousand denim notebooks and ballpoint pens...
    those fingers raised
    scribbled
    in
    Psychology
    American History
    15 minutes of home room...
    two fingers
    high.....
    self portrait in a scribble....
    not the face,
    the hair,
    the eyes,
    but two fingers
    raised
    to kiss the sky....

    And it's a broken record,
    a chant,
    a plea,
    a beggness....
    Just give me peace......

    Somehow, I know, you know....
    Peace~love sweet friend

  4. Maithri....

    And I'm
    watching you
    in the glimmer,
    the simmer,
    the aftermath,
    going back
    in make~believe
    and real time....
    kaleidescope colors
and glow in the dark smiles,
    neon babies
    dancing....
    and I hear a drummer...

And Caitlyn's smiling to the music....

    Peace~love my beautiful friend....
    You are the gift.....
